The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has graduated 20 veterinary paraprofessionals in Adamawa State.
Nigeria’s country representative and leader of the delegation, Dr Hussaini Gadain, said the graduands were trained in poultry production, animal husbandry and cattle fattening.
Gadain expressed gratitude to the government of Adamawa State for its support saying the beneficiaries were drawn from across the state.
He said the successes recorded, included fertiliser distribution, seeds and training in new agricultural practices among others.
Dr Gadain noted that their intervention was complementary to government programmes which are people centric.
Earlier, the deputy governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta had advocated the expansion of the training to cover the whole state.
Farauta saluted the FAO for its interventions in the state which had continued to positively impact the citizens.
Their programmes according to her, aligns with the human capital development of the government of Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri especially in agriculture and other sectors.
The deputy governor stressed that malnutrition would be properly addressed by engaging women in agricultural activities.
