In a bid to create a safer and more secure environment for both residents and visitors in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has expressed strong commitment to collaborate with indigenous communities in the region.

Odumosu gave this indication during a visit by the FCT Indigenous Community Security Committee and Welfare to his office to propose a partnership aimed at boosting security measures across the territory.

The group, deeply concerned about the safety of the FCT’s six area councils, sought to work with the NSCDC to create a peaceful and crime-free environment.

In his remarks, Dr. Odumosu commended the group for their proactive approach to security, describing their efforts as genuine, patriotic and deserving of full support. He said business and social activities could only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, and that ensuring the safety of the FCT’s indigenous people was a top priority for the NSCDC.

He reassured the group that the NSCDC was prepared to engage in meaningful collaborations and intelligence-sharing to address security concerns across the FCT.

“Security is a collective responsibility,” he stated, stressing that timely action, confidentiality and coordination with other agencies were key to resolving security challenges.
