Fellaini joined Everton from Standard Liege in 2008 and moved to United in 2013 before signing for Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng in 2019.
“What an incredible journey it’s been,” said Fellaini in a social media post.

“I am so grateful to have played the sport I love at the highest level.
Fellaini said he was “proud” to have represented the clubs had had and that it was “an honour to have played for the Belgian national team at the Olympics of 2008, Euro 2016 and the World Cups of 2014 and 2018”.
He made 141 Premier League appearances for Everton, scoring 25 goals and registering 14 assists for them.
Fellaini scored 22 goals in 177 appearances in all competitions for United, who he helped win the 2016 FA Cup as well as the Europa League and EFL Cup in 2017.
