The commandant-general of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, stated this during a working visit to Governor Alex Otti, in Umuahia, the state capital, during an operational tour.

“Because of the way you have been responding to security issues, the federal government has approved the establishment of the headquarters“, he explained.

‎“We want to give you a befitting command that will house the personnel of the command. It will go a long way to encourage them to give their best”, he added.

‎The CG, who appealed to the governor to allocate a parcel of land to the NSCDC for the building of the headquarters, lauded him for the good work he is doing in the state.

In a response, Otti appreciated the federal government for approving the establishment of the headquarters and announced the approval of the allocation of land for the project.

‎He described security as the cornerstone of his administration’s agenda, noting that the relative peace in the state is a result of the proactive and coordinated efforts of the security agencies.

‎“For us, security is key; it is the most important thing in the state. Everything we are doing, whether it is building roads, schools, hospitals or bridges, will fail if security is not guaranteed.
