A minor fire incident was yesterday contained at the Federal Ministry of Works.
A statement by the director of information in the ministry, Mohammed Ahmed, said the incident occurred at about 11: 30 am at Block A of the ministry as a result of a spark from a faulty circuit breaker in the electrical control room on the ground floor.
The station commander, Federal Fire Service, Federal Ministry of Works, Headquarters, Mr. Kekai Bekebi said there was a quick response from his team who were able to put the situation under control by deploying available fire extinguishers. He added that a successful evacuation exercise of staff was also carried out.
The director, Human Resource Management, Mr. Aliyu Abdullahi, stated that no loss of document, injuries and or casualties was recorded. He commended the staff for their conduct while the incident lasted.
