As part of its firm commitment to employee health and well-being, JMG Limited, Nigeria’s leading provider of integrated electro-mechanical solutions, has hosted its inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Programme in commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The initiative formed part of JMG’s culture of care, continuous education, and preventive health among its workforce.

In line with the global theme, “Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters,” the session served as both an educational and deeply personal experience. Employees across all JMG locations participated onsite and virtually joined to learn, share, and show solidarity with those affected by breast cancer, reinforcing the company’s belief that health awareness is a shared responsibility.

The sensitisation session was led by Dr Gold Ukwute, a renowned physician and cancer awareness advocate, who shed light on the cancers most prevalent in the Black community, affecting both men and women. She emphasised the life-saving importance of early detection, regular screenings, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

One of the most impactful moments of the event was a live demonstration on the correct technique for breast self-examination, empowering women to take proactive steps in monitoring their health while encouraging everyone to share this essential knowledge with family and friends.

In his remarks, Mazen Jubaili, Managing Director of JMG Limited, urged employees to view health awareness as a lifelong habit, rather than a one-time observance. Awareness is not a one-month campaign; it’s a year-round practice,” he said. “Let’s look out for one another as a JMG and Jamara family, promote early detection, and remind ourselves that no one is ever too young to check.”

The atmosphere throughout the event was one of warmth, reflection, and unity, filled with open conversations, learning, and mutual encouragement. It highlighted JMG’s ongoing commitment to being not just a workplace, but a family-oriented organisation that values the well-being of its people.

As the company continues to strengthen its health and wellness programmes, this initiative stands as a reminder that at JMG, people come first, and every story truly matters.
