A new social enterprise, Illuminating Minds, has officially launched in Nigeria, offering individuals and organizations training and support focused on mental well-being and personal development.
Founded by Dr. Itari Turner, a human relations expert and mental health advocate, the organisation aims to create a culture of mental health awareness and support, particularly for those facing displacement and adversity.
Turner says she envisions a world where communities are resilient, teachers are equipped, and individuals have access to quality mental health care. “Illuminating Minds believes mental well-being and education are fundamental rights and strives to make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.”
Illuminating Minds offers a range of programs, including, mental health services for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). This includes psychological assessment, counselling, and community-based support activities like group therapy and mindfulness sessions, Equips teachers with tools to recognize and respond to trauma in students and create safe learning environments, customized programs on leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and more for organizations.
