Further to that, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, in a statement, said flags at major government buildings have been lowered at half mast “as a sign of collective mourning,” amidst tributes and condolence messages to the first family in their moment of grief.

Consequently, the ongoing distribution of palliatives across the 31 local government areas of the state have been suspended.

The food train had so far berthed in Ibesikpo Asutan, Etim Ekpo, Nsit Atai, Okobo, Etiman, and was scheduled for Ika, on Monday, September 30, before the unfortunate passing of the first lady.

Besides, chairmanship and councilorship candidates of major political parties going to the forthcoming October 5, 2024 LGA elections, especially the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have suspended their ongoing campaigns and consultations in solidarity with the first family.
