The minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar has donated about N20 million and assorted food items to flood victims in Gamawa, Giade and Shira local government areas of Bauchi State.

LEADERSHIP reports that floods killed about three people in Bauchi. The floods also cut off the Kano-Maiduguri expressway at Katagum local government area, and the Bauchi-Jigawa road was washed away, in addition to other roads within the state.

Similarly, the federal government inspected the affected roads and promised to reconstruct the damaged sections of the roads.

Ambassador Tuggar announced the donation when he visited the affected local government areas.

In addition to the financial support, the minister also donated food items, including noodles, one truck of rice, and detergents to the victims of the flood.

The minister extended his deepest sympathies to the communities affected by the flood, sharing in their sorrow and praying for a swift recovery for those who sustained injuries.

He acknowledged the pain and hardship caused by the disaster and assured the affected communities that efforts were being made to provide necessary support and aid to help them rebuild and recover.

Ambassador Tuggar said the donation was meant to alleviate the suffering of the flood victims in Bauchi State.

The minister also called on humanitarian organisations to extend a helping hand to those in need, reinforcing the shared commitment to unity and compassion in the face of adversity.

Responding to the donation, the district head of Gamawa, Adamu Dahuwa, commended the minister for his gesture, assuring that the money and donated items would be distributed judiciously to those affected by the flood.
