Pedro Gonçalves, the former manager of the Angolan national football team, has escalated a dispute with the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) to FIFA, alleging unpaid wages and breaches of contract.
Gonçalves, a Portuguese tactician who previously led the Palancas Negras, claims the FAF owes him outstanding contractual obligations following the conclusion of his time as coach.
Reports indicate that Gonçalves opted to approach football’s world governing body after repeated attempts to resolve the matter directly with the federation proved unsuccessful.
A source close to the situation revealed, “The coach always tried to avoid going to FIFA, but there was no other option due to their failure to comply and their lack of response on how they intended to resolve the situation.”
FIFA is now expected to review the case as both parties await further developments in the contractual disagreement.
