The project coordinator Malam Muhammad Sani Abubakar on Wednesday in Kano said the resolve of the foundation to reach out to the common men during the Ramadan fast was predicated on humanitarian consideration and love for one another.

He said the foundation plans to use the forthcoming Ramadan to distribute clothing materials and food items  to 500 orphans, widows and the less privileged in Kano.

Abubakar, who flagged off the exercise in Kano yesterday, said the gesture was meant to alleviate the sufferings of the poor during Ramadan.

He said the beneficiaries were selected from different parts of the state to put smiles on their faces most especially in this trying moment of hard economic realities.

The items distributed include rice, maize and clothing materials for both children ,men and women.

“The gesture is a motive to teach other Muslims to give more charity to the poor in this Holy month of Ramadan.

He said the foundation was established in 2014 to assist the needy especially the orphans and less privileges, as well as skills acquisition centre for training and empowerment for women and youths to be self-reliant”

The project coordinator called on wealthy individuals in the society to support such a gesture in helping the less privileged in the society, not only in the month of Ramadan.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, an orphan Yusuf Bello and Malam Muhammad Umar commended the foundation for the gesture and that the food and material given would be used judiciously.

Bello called on philanthropists to double their efforts by assisting the down trodden to pass through the Ramadan period with ease and comfortably.
