A faith-based medical outreach has brought relief and hope to rural communities in Edo State, with over 450 residents benefitting from free healthcare services.
The Great Quest Reach-out Foundation, in partnership with Peace Rural Missions, Jason’s Foundation and Christ’s Heritage Ministry, conducted the programme in Apana and Auchi from March 5 to 8.
The initiative offered surgery, dental care, eye care, medical consultations and spiritual guidance.
A total of 452 individuals received treatment, including 43 patients who underwent 49 surgical procedures such as myomectomy, appendectomy, and excision of hernia and lipoma.
Dental services included 22 extractions and 15 scaling and polishing procedures, while eye care reached around 160 people, with 150 provided with eyeglasses and others referred for follow-up care.
The outreach also had a spiritual dimension, with 265 community members making professions of faith and ongoing pastoral support provided by local missionaries.
African Director of The Great Quest Reach-out Foundation, Ambassador Rita Agboaye said the programme reflected the organisation’s commitment to holistic care.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Apana and Auchi. This outreach addresses both physical and spiritual needs, and it has been a remarkable experience witnessing the community embrace hope and faith,” she said.
The organisers thanked the medical team and supporters whose contributions made the outreach possible.
The foundation continues its mission to restore hope and improve lives through ministry, evangelism, and therapy.
