Transcorp Hotels Appoints Muyiwa Akinyemi To Board Of Directors

Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality arm of Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp), has announced the appointment of Mr. Muyiwa Akinyemi as an Independent Non-Executive Director to its Board of Directors, effective April 1, 2026.

The appointment is set to be ratified at the Company’s next general meeting of shareholders.

Mr. Akinyemi brings over three decades of experience in Nigeria’s financial services sector, covering wholesale and retail banking, investment banking, capital markets, and strategic business leadership.

He most recently served as Group Deputy Managing Director of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, overseeing the bank’s operations across Nigeria, including Corporate, Business Banking, and Retail divisions.

An Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mr. Akinyemi is also a member of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and has completed advanced executive programmes at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Cambridge University, and Harvard Business School.
