Galatasaray’s plan to sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal from Napoli is beginning to see the light of day after finding a sponsor to take care of 70 per cent of the transfer fee.

According to Turkish outlet, Milliyet, the Turkish champions, who are considering reducing the €75 million fee to €70 million due to the payments they have made, have met with two major companies operating in Turkey, one of which accepted the transfer fee in return for the club paying 30 per cent.

It was stated that Napoli wanted €25 million in advance and the remaining amount in two instalments, so the club are looking for resources.

Galatasaray decided to move fast and use their trump card after Fenerbahce expressed their interest in the Nigeria striker through their coach Jose Mourinho. After initially heaving a sigh of relief when the player said, “I am very happy here,” they will now work to convince Napoli to sell.

Fenerbahçe also tested the waters for the Osimhen transfer through agent Mirsad Türkcan, who has started negotiations to meet the player’s transfer fee and also knocked on the doors of some organisations and received a positive response from a sponsor.

It was learnt that Fenerbahçe never met with the player, but they are hoping to win the race for the player’s signature due to the good relationship between the club and Napoli during the Eljif Elmas transfer.

Osimhen will be a big investment, and whoever get him will have to pay a huge price. While the transfer fee is thought to be €75 million, the player who currently earns €12 mmillion per year, including image rights, will receive €36 million for three seasons.

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek will try to complete Osimhen’s transfer with a three-man team consisting of himself, Kavukcu, and Buruk. They are expected to meet with George Gardi in Italy and exchange views on how to proceed with the transfer.
