Irish actor and writer Michael Patrick, best known for his role in the global hit series Game of Thrones, has passed away at the age of 35.

Patrick died peacefully at the Northern Ireland Hospice following a two-year battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). His wife, Naomi Sheehan, confirmed the news, stating that family and friends surrounded him during his final moments.

The Belfast-born actor was diagnosed with the incurable neurological condition in February 2023. Despite the diagnosis, he remained active in the industry, recently winning a major theatre award for his performance in a production of Richard III, which he performed in a wheelchair.
