Ganduje Denies Dumping APC, Says He’s Not Political Vulture

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed reports alleging that he has defected to the New Democratic Congress (NDC), insisting he remains a loyal member of the ruling party.

Ganduje described the reports as false and politically motivated, declaring that he was “not a vulture flying from one tree to another” in pursuit of personal ambition or political convenience.

The clarification was contained in a statement issued on Friday by his Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, following the circulation of posters on social media claiming that the former Kano State governor had dumped the APC for the NDC.

Garba said the posters were part of a deliberate misinformation campaign designed to mislead the public, create confusion among APC members and fuel unnecessary political speculation.

He said Ganduje had remained steadfast in his political convictions and had never contemplated leaving the APC, a party he once led as its national chairman.

The statement described the claims that Ganduje had joined the NDC as “false and illogical,” maintaining that there was no political or logical basis for such speculation.

It added that the APC remained Nigeria’s largest political platform and continued to grow under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the statement, those behind the fake posters were political mischief-makers seeking to tarnish Ganduje’s reputation and create anxiety within the ruling party.

Garba disclosed that those responsible for producing and circulating the posters had been identified and warned that legal action would be taken against them unless they immediately withdrew the materials and ceased further dissemination.

Ganduje urged APC members, supporters and the general public to disregard the posters, insisting they did not reflect his political position or intentions.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting President Tinubu and the APC leadership in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening the APC ahead of future political engagements, while urging the public to rely only on official communications concerning his political activities.
