Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has assented to the 2023 budget bill, declaring it as his final appropriation bill as the governor of the state.
He said the budget would be used to improve the well-being of the people.
The governor said the N268 billion has tremendous increases compared to last years.
On his part, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Hamisu Chidari announced the increase while presenting the approved budget to the governor.
After signing it, Ganduje said, “We are so happy that you deliberated and finally approved the 2023 budget.
“This budget is very important because many of our capital projects would be completed and a lot of initiatives have been put into the budget to bring succor to our people.”
“This is my last budget as the governor of Kano state and I am happy that I piloted the state to attain this height and impacted on the lives of the people that brought me into power. I thank Allah (SWT) for this privilege,” he added.
Ganduje had presented the 2023 budget proposal of N245 Billion to the State Assembly in November 2022 seeking for the blessings and approval by the house.
