Abuja, the Nation’s Capital was agog and literally stood still, when Ambassador Dr. StellaRita Asogwa, (JP) was conferred with the title of ‘Kpakpando Oma’ Ndigbo by His Royal Majesty, Igwe Amb. David Kingston Okey-Dede (Eze Igbo 1 of Maitama, Igwe Obata Obie 1 of Abuja).
The glamourous traditional event, which held amidst funfair recently, attracted dignitaries and worthy sons of Ndigbo, friends, families, opinion Moulders, lovers of culture and tradition from all walks of life and well-wishers.
The event was celebrated to mark the 1st Ofala/Iwaji festival and investiture of the cabinet of the Igbo community in Maitama, Abuja.
A statement by the manager of the ‘Kpakpando Oma’ Ndigbo, Mr. Williams Omeji, conveyed her gratitude to His Royal Highness and his cabinet for the honour bestowed on her and thanked everyone who graced the event.
Dr StellaRita Asogwa JP, who is known for her intellectual prowess and well versed in the Ndigbo ancestral and cultural lineage, expressed her love, sense of belonging and appreciation for the new title, promising to be a good ambassador of the Igbo culture, as well as remaining a worthy source of inspiration to women and girls in the society.
StellaRita, an entrepreneur of diverse interests and the CEO of Marcoriano Chinese Restaurant, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, promised to use her office to attract unity, peace and development to their people.
She also acknowledged that the decision to confer her with title is reward her unprecedented positive commitment to her people, said, she will stop at nothing to etch her name on the sands of time. Dr Asogwa obtained her master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in 2015 from the Business School Netherlands (BSN). She was awarded honorary postgraduate doctoral degrees (Ph.D. (h.c)) from Janus University, California, and Prowess University, Delaware, USA.
