Professors Without Borders, a UK charity, international educators have launched its fourth annual programme at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
It trained over 200 students and faculty members at a week-long intensive programme focused on digital transformation.
The programme kicked off on Monday, July 21, with the theme: “Leadership, Innovation, and Sustainability: Empowering Digital Transformation.”
It was attended by guests including Barrister Babatunde Ogundare, representative of the minister of Interior and Prof. Folashade Ogunsola, vice chancellor of UNILAG, represented by DVC, Academic and Research, Prof. Bola Oboh, who welcomed the international team of educators.”
Oboh expressed delight at hosting the fourth edition of the programme in his opening remarks.
He said, “The partnership between UNILAG and Professors Without Borders (PWB) continues to provide our students and faculty members with invaluable exposure to global perspectives and cutting-edge skills.”
The programme, which features a diverse team of international educators working alongside local experts, is being coordinated by Titus Ayodele, country manager for Professors Without Borders (PWB) Nigeria, with support from Ambassador Dr Olalekan Ajisafe and Dr Aaron Akinloye.
Students were immersed in hands-on learning experiences on the opening day.
During his lecture on Social Entrepreneurship, Dr Eckhart challenged participants to design mobile applications, while Dr. Beaujolais engaged students in presenting their research interests and methodological approaches.
Eckhart said, “The energy and enthusiasm of Nigerian students never fail to impress us. Today, we threw them into the deep end with app design challenges, and they responded with creativity, innovation, and genuine excitement about the possibilities ahead.”
The students expressed excitement about the practical, hands-on approach to learning that differs from traditional lecture formats.
