The 35-year-old Northern Irish Proffessional Golfers Association of America (PGA) member made the decision barely a week to the commencement of the PGA Championship.

Detailed reasons for this action have not been announced yet. However, it is largely due to ‘Irreconcilable differences’, LEADERSHIP has gathered.

Confirming the information, the golfer’s spokesperson emphasised that Rory Mcllroy intended that this difficult time is as respectable and amicable as possible.

Mcllroy and Erica had met in 2012 when she was working with the PGA at the Ryder Cup. They were reported to have started dating in 2014 and have a child together.
