The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has completed the upload of the nomination records and profile of its Gombe State governorship candidate, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Pantamiyya Movement announced the development yesterday, noting that the nomination documents were uploaded on July 26, 2026, marking a milestone in his emergence as the party’s standard-bearer.

According to the movement, Pantami became the PDP’s governorship candidate on May 26 after emerging unopposed during the party’s primary election.

The affirmation process, it added, was monitored by INEC and conducted in line with the relevant electoral laws and party guidelines.

The group further disclosed that the PDP National Organising Secretary’s Office had confirmed the completion of the upload process and forwarded an acknowledged copy of the submission to both the party and its candidate.

Highlighting Pantami’s credentials, the movement described him as a renowned scholar, former minister of Communications and Digital Economy, and former director-general of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

It also noted his role as Co-Chairman of the African Union’s Fourth Industrial Revolution Policy Council, saying his public service record demonstrated leadership, innovation and integrity.

The movement further claimed that Pantami increased revenue in Nigeria’s digital economy sector by more than 593 per cent while reducing the cost of digital services during his tenure in office. It also credited him with facilitating more than 241 projects and programmes in Gombe State.

It added that Pantami intends to draw on his experience in education, digital economy, agriculture, industrialisation, security and youth empowerment to promote economic growth, create jobs and ensure inclusive governance across Gombe State.

The group expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership at both the state and national levels, including members of the National Working Committee, for their support throughout the nomination process.
