The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Gombe State chapter has raised concerns over alleged plans by the opposition party in the state to clone its gubernatorial candidate, Mohammed Jibrin Barde’s voice.
In a statement shared with reporters on Saturday by Deputy Director General Media Atiku/Danbarde Campaign Management Council Gombe State, Malam Junaidu Usman Abubakar said clone voice is way to defame his good reputation as a way of de-marketing his political chances in the forthcoming election.
Malam Junaidu said “We have it on credible information that they are trying to clone his voice to frame him by making it seem he is abusing the emirs and religious leaders in Gombe State.
“We want to state clearly that this is untypical of PDP in the state as our party has utmost regard for our tradition and religious leaders and institutions.”
He noted that they are now resorting to attempts of cheap blackmail because of our candidate whose popularity has grown beyond expectations.
According to him, “Mohammed Jibrin Barde has proven practically beyond any reasonable doubt that he will never use political thugs to achieve his dream of becoming a Governor in Gombe State in as much as he will not use his own biological son for political thuggery.
“We are therefore, calling on all stakeholders, security agencies in Nigeria and the world especially United Nations, Human Rights Watch, European Election observers and all other relevant elections observing agencies to kindly take note and pay attention to Gombe State.
“PDP is committed to peaceful campaigns and we want Gombe State to remain peaceful before, during and after the 2023 elections.
