Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has described the supreme court judgement which affirmed the validity of the state APC gubernatorial primary election as a victory for all APC family.

Badaru stated this after the supreme court sitting in Abuja dismissed the suit filed by Hon Faruku Adamu Aliyu challenging the conduct of the primary election in which produced Malam Umar Namadi as al  party’s gubernatorial candidate for 2023 general election.

He said APC is a political party that respect rule of law, respect its member’s opinion and also accommodate all.

Governor Abubakar also commended Hon. Faruku Adamu Aliyu for accepting the  Court judgment which confirmed Alhaji Umar Namadi as the governorship candidate of the APC in Jigawa.

“Hon. Faruku Adamu has proven to be a real democrat by agreeing to continue to be part of the APC and vows to support our presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our governorship candidate, Namadi.

“As North West coordinator of the Tinubu/Shetima campaign and the governor of Jigawa state, I urged all party members to continue to accord respect to Hon. Faruku being one of the party stalwarts,” Badaru stated.

In his response to the judgement, the state deputy governor, Malam Umaru Namadi Sa’id said he received with ultimate delight and gratitude to Allah, the judgement of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which brings to an end to the long judicial impasse that greeted the aftermath of the primary election.

“This verdict has further reinforced my belief in Allah’s hand in the Jigawa project which I have embarked on, the judgment is also an opportunity for us, as members and leaders of the APC to ‘sheath the swords’, forget, forgive and work together for the victory of our party at all levels.

“My earlier stands on the previous Court’s judgement remains – I’m neither a victor nor a vanquished so also my comrade, Hon. Farouq Aliyua. The victory is for all members of the APC and the people of Jigawa State

“Let me further call on all aggrieved members and leaders who work so hard for the growth and progress of the party to join hands together and work for the success of the APC, being the only party with the populace at heart,” Namadi stated.
