The Yobe State Commissioner Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development, Hon Barma Shettima said the administration of governor Mai Mala Buni remained committed to implementing the child right law in the state.
A statement issued by press secretary to the SSG, Alhaji Shu’aibu ABdullahi Hon Barma Shettima stated this while speaking at the opening ceremony of a five day capacity building workshop for members of the state child protection law implementation committee in Kano.
The commissioner said governor Buni has since inception considered the lives and future of children across the state as a priority assuring that the government will implement the law in the state.
Shettima commended governor Mai mala Buni for assenting to the law, which he said was meant to give adequate protection to children in the state
He further commended development partners such as UNICEF, SAVE THE CHILDREN AND CARE INTERNATIONAL for supporting the processes on actualization of the child protection law (CPL) in Yobe state.
The commissioner therefore, described the CPL implementation Committee training as apt as it will provide in-depth knowledge on the child protection law in the state.
In a goodwill message, the representatives of UNICEF, Save The Children and Care international who highlighted the need for more synergy and collaboration among critical stakeholders for the successful implementation of the process.
During the event, Barrister Mustapha Wakil made presentations on the stories of the Child Right Law while Professor Umar Alkali dwelled on the child right law and religion among others.
