Gov Emmanuel Gives 500 Physically-challenged Undergraduates Scholarship

To complement the administration’s free and compulsory education policy, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has empowered 500 physically-challenged undergraduates with scholarship facility.

This was one of the major decisions reached at the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting presided over by the Governor in chief.

According to the commissioner for information and strategy, Comrade Iniobong Ememobong, the proposal for the scheme was drawn-up by the commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet.

However, the governor, while approving the scheme, charged the Education Commissioner to set the right template for the selection of “only the indigent but intelligent students on merit across all tertiary institutions in the state”

“I hereby approved the proposal by the Commissioner for Education for the State Government Tertiary Scholarship Scheme.
