Katsina State governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has endorsed Senators Godswill Akpabio and Barau Jibrin, for senate president and deputy senate president of the 10th National Assembly, respectively.

He gave his endorsement when he received a delegation of senators-elect led by Godswill Akpabio and Barau Jibrin, for a courtesy visit at the Katsina State Government Lodge, in Abuja.

Senator Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, and immediate-past minister of Niger Delta Affairs, together with Sen. Barau Jibrin of Kano Central Senatorial District, are the All Progressives Congress, (APC)’s choice for the office of the Senate President and Deputy Senate President, in the incoming Senate.

In a statement issued by the chief press secretary to Governor Radda, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, he stated that while receiving the delegation, the governor stressed the need for the 10th Senate to enact quality and effective legislation that will better the lot of teeming citizens.

“Your leadership of the Senate should build and maintain harmonious relationship with other arms of government, without necessarily compromising your legislative independence,” the governor said.
