Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed has said the palliative distribution to the people of the state would be extended beyond Ramadan to mitigate the hardship faced by them.

He told journalists after observing Eid-el-Fitr prayer at Bauchi Eid Ground yesterday that the worsening economic situation required collective efforts by governments at all levels as well as corporate organisations towards ameliorating the situation.

He added that the recent disbursement of N10,000- as Sallah gift to both state and local government workers by his administration was unprecedented and called on them to reciprocate the gesture through increased productivity.

While calling on Muslims to spread love and adhere to the teaching of Islam and follow the doctrines of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Mohammed called on the Muslim ummah to strengthen their relationship with one another and imbibe the spirit of love and forgiveness to attract Allah’s blessings.

The two Raka’at prayer which saw the attendance of thousands of worshipers including the coordinating minister of health and social development, Professor Ali Pate, emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu and top government functionaries was led by the chief imam of Bauchi Imam Bala Baban Innah.
