Governor Buni Inspects Ongoing Road, Other Projects In Geidam, Yunusari LGAs

As part of measures towards ensuring quality and value for the money spent on projects, the Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni has inspected some ongoing road constructions and rehabilitation in parts of the state.
Governor Buni had in the 2024 budget he assented to in January this year promised to complete all ongoing projects started by his administration in addition to initiating new ones across the state.
Buni, represented by Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali said the inspection visits were meant to assess progress of work and ensure adherence to standard as agreed in the contractual agreement signed.

The governor stated that the road projects, which include 18km Bukarti-Toshiya and rehabilitation of Kanamma-Yunusari, Gaidam-Bukarti and Yunusari-Bayamari were awarded as part of fulfillment of campaign promises to the people of the area.
“This are projects that have a direct impact on the lives of our people and as such we have to make sure that the projects were executed according to specification.”

The governor has while in Geidam, inspected the ongoing construction of the ultra modern market awarded in the town where he expressed happiness with the progress of the work.
He used the forum and commended the contractor handling the Bukarti-Toshiya, Yunusari-Bayamari and Kamamma-Yunusari road projects for a job well-done.
Buni has while commenting on the rehabilitation of Gaidam-Bukarti road project, directed the commissioner Ministry of Works as well as the director general, Yobe State Bureau of Public Procurement to invite the contractor handling the g for a round table discussion over his challenges.

Briefing the Governor at the Bukarti-Toshiya road project, the site, Engr Abubakar Danjuma who is also the representative of the company handling the work, said only Five kilometers of earth work was left to reach Toshiya, promising the completion of the earth work as soon as possible.

Also speaking, Engr. Jonny of the Company that handles rehabilitation of Yunusari-Bayamari road said that major aspects of the work would be completed within one month assuring that the entire project would be completed within the stipulated time.
Engr. Jonny commended the State Government for the prompt release of funds that enabled the project to advance without any hitch.
