Governor Mohammed Declares Bauchi Haven Of Peace

Buachi State governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has described his state as a haven of peace with the greatest respect for the rule of law, which his administration has invested massively in.

He averred that the government  has also built strong institutions in various sectors which are stable, functional and harmonious.

The governor stated this yesterday in Enugu when he unveiled the 2025 Bauchi State Economic Investment Summit to the Southeast Zone.

Mohammed, who was represented by the secretary to the state government (SSG), Hon. Aminu Hammayo, disclosed that the event will take place on the 8th and 9th of October, 2025

“Bauchi is a haven of peace with the greatest respect for the rule of law, which we have invested massively in. We have built strong institutions across sectors that are stable, functional and harmonious.

“They are capable of adapting to societal trends to ensure social peace, the security of persons and property, economic development and prosperity as well as political stability at all times.”

The governor noted that, in the last six years of their administration, they have implemented a programme of action that has improved the stock of critical infrastructure needed to leapfrog the state’s economy to a growth path.

He added that they have executed projects and programmes that have impacted the lives of their citizens.

The governor further stated that they have opened up the state to connect the hugely productive but hitherto inaccessible agrarian and largely endowed rural areas to wider markets while at the same time providing access to the communities to the basic social services required.

” I must acknowledge that we have been driven to this success path by a clear vision we crafted for the state, which guided the development of the State Perspective Plan 2033 to align with the national development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goal 12.

“To build on these successes, it has become imperative for us to leverage the abundant potentials we have in agriculture, livestock production, the extractive industry, renewable energy sources, and a large human capital base, among others, to create a trajectory of sustainable development and prosperity for the State and the country at large; hence, the need for the Summit,” he stated.

The number one citizen of Buachi State explained that the Summit, with the theme “Rebuilding A Resilient Economy; Optimising Investment & Partnerships,” aims to bring together key stakeholders from across the domestic and foreign investment landscape, including government officials, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and prospective investors.

“It will seek to achieve the following outcomes: Attract and onboard new local and international investments; showcase investment-ready opportunities through plenary sessions and exhibitions; promote the growth of SMEs through their exposure and facilitation to markets and business partnerships; and foster strategic collaborations through the execution of Memoranda of Understanding and creation of Joint Venture platforms.

” It is against this background that we are here today. It is my hope that at the end of the event, the intention behind our plan for the Summit will be clear and better understood.

“Let me specially acknowledge the strong entrepreneurial spirit of the South East that is characterised by resilience, adaptability and a strong emphasis on self-reliance and hard work. We welcome this spirit to Bauchi and look forward to working with you. At this juncture, it is my honour to unveil the BAUCHI STATE ECONOMIC & INVESTMENT SUMMIT to the South East of Nigeria with further assurance of the Government of the State that we will continue to give the support and guarantee needed to secure investments coming into Bauchi,” he assured.
