Governor Sule Wins Nasarawa North APC Senatorial Ticket

Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Nasarawa North Senatorial District, polling 47,393 votes to defeat his only opponent, Silas Ali Agara, who scored 2,915 votes.

The governor won by a margin of more than 44,000 votes.

Sule was declared winner by the party’s Returning Officer, Musa Shuaibu Guri, at the VIP Lodge in Akwanga, the zone’s headquarters.

Announcing the results before party officials and members of the press, the Returning Officer said the exercise was peaceful, credible and transparent.

“I, Musa Shuaibu Guri, Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Election Committee, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Nasarawa North senatorial primary election held on the 18th day of May 2026. Audu Alhaji Sule got a total vote of 47,393, while the second aspirant, Silas Ali Agara, got a total vote of 2,915,” he declared.

He added that Governor Sule had satisfied all requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines, having scored the highest number of votes, and was accordingly declared winner and returned as the party’s senatorial candidate for Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
