Governor Yusuf Seeks Assembly’s Nod For New Ministries

The Kano State House of Assembly has received two letters from the Kano State governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, seeking their approval for the creation of new ministries in the state as well as screen commissioner-nominees.

The speaker, Rt Hon Jibrin Ismail Falgore, who read the letter in the floor of the house on Tuesday stated that the governor in one of the letters noted that the establishment of the proposed ministries was part of his administration’s plans to improve efficiency and performance in the state.

The proposed ministries are ministry of humanitarian affairs and poverty eradication; solid minerals resources; power and renewable energy; internal security and special service .

According to the governor, the new ministries would go a long way in improving socio-economic activities and delivery of good governance as well as putting the state at a vintage position for sustainable development.

The spokesperson of the speaker, Kamaludeen Sani Shawai in a statement added that, in a separate letter to the State House, Gov. Yusuf also requested the screening and appointment of four commissioners and members of the state executive council.

The nominees are: Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, Alhaji Abdul-Jabbar Umar Garko, Hon. Shehu Usman Aliyu Karaye and Alhaji Mustapha Rabi’u Musa.
