Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill totaling N1.47 trillion into law.
The governor assented to the budget on Wednesday during a meeting of the State Executive Council (SEC) held in Kano.
The Kano State House of Assembly passed the appropriation bill amounting to N1, 477,829,666,131 for the 2026 fiscal year on Monday, following its consideration at the Committee of the Whole.
The lawmakers increased the initial budget proposal submitted by the executive by N109.7 billion.
Governor Yusuf had earlier presented a proposed budget of N1, 368,127,929,271 to the House of Assembly, tagged “Budget of Infrastructure, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development.”
The budget aims to consolidate ongoing projects while initiating new interventions across critical sectors of the state’s economy, with a focus on infrastructure development, inclusive growth, and sustainable development.
