Following recent correspondences, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and the Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Services have each acknowledged SSI’s growing role in the national social development space.

In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Abuja, signed by Overseeing Director of the Women Development Department, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Anunike Blessing, confirmed SSI’s registration as one of Nigeria’s national women-focused Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Blessing commended the organisation’s commitment to women’s well-being and urged continued collaboration on programmes that enhance skills and resilience.

She said, “This recognition validates our long-standing commitment to women and girls.”

Also, the executive director of SSI, Prophet Efe Edah, stated that the recognition strengthens the organization’s resolve to work closely with government and international partners to transform lives and restore dignity through empowerment.

Similarly, the director of Sustainable Development, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Mr. Valentine I. Ezulu, underscored the ministry’s readiness to collaborate with SSI on poverty alleviation, humanitarian response, and social inclusion programmes.

At the state level, the Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Services also recognized SSI as a credible development partner, authorizing its operations within the state’s civil society framework.

With these recognitions, SSI has been positioned as a strategic government partner working across federal and state levels to promote women’s empowerment, youth development, and community resilience.
