Plateau North Unity Forum have expressed support for the senatorial aspiration of Prof Danladi Abok Atu.

It passed a vote of confidence in him, describing the aspirant as a worthy son, capable and credible for the Plateau North Senatorial seat in 2027.

The group’s spokesman, Da Timothy Kim, who addressed reporters in Jos, the Plateau State capital, called on well-meaning citizens, stakeholders and leaders across Plateau North to join them in this noble cause.

“Let us rise above divisions and work together to build a future defined by unity, progress, and shared prosperity, not just for Plateau North, but for Nigeria as a whole,” he said.

According to Kim, one of the most compelling attributes of Prof. Atu is his deep-rooted connection with the grassroots, adding that he is not a distant figure; he is a man of the people.

“His widespread acceptance across communities in Plateau North is a testament to years of building trust, nurturing relationships, and standing with the people in times of need.

The group also insisted that in a state that has experienced its share of ethno-religious challenges, Professor Atu’s commitment to unity and peacebuilding is particularly significant.

They maintained that his academic and professional focus on conflict resolution, dialogue, and reconciliation positions him as a bridge-builder, capable of healing divides and fostering lasting harmony, in line with the Plateau North Unity Forum’s motto.

“Equally important is his track record in community development, as reflected in his passion for improving lives through initiatives that uplift communities and create opportunities.

“His work demonstrates a deep understanding of the socio-economic challenges faced by our people and a commitment to addressing them sustainably. The youth, who represent the future of our society, have found in Professor Atu a mentor and a source of inspiration.

Kim further pointed out that through mentorship and empowerment, he has helped shape the aspirations of many young people, equipping them with the tools to succeed and contribute meaningfully to society.

The group added that integrity likewise remains one of its strongest currencies. In an era where trust in public institutions is often eroded, Professor Atu stands out as a man of honesty, transparency, and principled conduct. His credibility is well established and widely acknowledged.

“Atu’s political awareness and strategic insight further enhance his suitability for the Senate. Having engaged with governance processes at various levels, he possesses the experience and understanding required to navigate legislative responsibilities effectively.

According to them, Atu has the capacity to attract development and investment to Plateau North, adding that his extensive network, both locally and internationally, positions him to bring meaningful projects and partnerships that will benefit our people.

They believed that the aspirants would be a symbol of hope, a vessel of transformation, and a beacon of inclusive leadership if allowed to serve the zone in the Red Chamber come 2027.
