The Tinubu/Uba Sani Mobilisation Network (TUSMN) has targeted 1.2 million votes for President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani, in the 2027 general elections, citing education and security interventions in the state.
The chairman of the group, Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria, stated this yesterday during a media parley in Kaduna, where he listed the achievements of the two administrations in education, security, agriculture and infrastructure.
Aminu-Zaria said the group believed the two governments’ programmes should be sustained, adding that it would take its mobilisation campaign to communities across the state.
The chairman claimed that about 250,000 out-of-school children had returned to the classrooms under the state government’s interventions, although.
He said the group would use such interventions to explain its support for the governor’s re-election bid and to highlight the federal government’s policies ahead of the presidential election.
On security, Aminu-Zaria acknowledged that attacks persisted in some parts of Kaduna State but maintained that the situation had improved in certain communities.
He attributed the improvement to engagements with community leaders, traditional institutions, and representatives of different ethnic and religious groups, as well as collaboration with security agencies.
He added that the state government had visited communities affected by attacks and worked with security authorities on efforts to secure the release of abducted residents.
On agriculture, he said the state government had distributed fertilisers, tractors and other farming equipment to support farmers and improve food production.
He also identified the proposed Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone and rural road projects as interventions to improve agricultural processing and connect farmers to markets.
He also commended Governor Uba Sani for engaging the Federal Government on the Kaduna-Abuja highway, which he described as important for transportation, commerce and security.
On the Federal Government’s economic reforms, Aminu-Zaria defended the removal of the petrol subsidy, arguing that difficult policy decisions might be necessary to achieve long-term economic stability.
He challenged those calling for a return to fuel subsidy payments to explain how the policy would be funded and what its economic implications could be.
On the debate over the rotation of political power, he said he believed in equity and argued that Tinubu should be allowed to complete his tenure, following the two terms served by former President Muhammadu Buhari, who is from the North.
Aminu-Zaria also said Uba Sani had improved relations between the State government and communities in Southern Kaduna through what he described as greater inclusion and respect for religious and cultural diversity.
The chairman expressed confidence in the group’s ability to mobilise support for the two leaders, saying it would focus on communicating the two leaders’ administrations’ programmes to residents ahead of the elections.
