Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has condemned the recent arson attack on sections of the Rivers State House of Assembly by suspected hoodlums.

MOSIEND, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday by its national president, Kennedy West, called on the aggrieved parties in the state to imbibe the attitude of tolerance, forgiveness and remember that they are in one team to transform the state and Niger Delta region for the good of all.

West said: “We condemn the burning of Rivers State House of Assembly Complex by faceless politicians and hired youths because the complex was built by tax payers.

“To rebuild the complex, it will take huge sums of money from the tax payers money which could have been channeled to other areas of development in the state. Let the tenets of separation of power be respected by all, because that is the spirit of democracy.”

The MOSIEND leader admonished Rivers youths to shun violence and desist from being used by politicians to foment trouble.
