The Alliance, consisting of various stakeholders, expressed profound appreciation for the reforms that aim to motivate civil servants and foster their professional growth, aligning with the shared vision of a developed Abuja.

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP, the Convener, Mohammed Bassah, speaking on the ongoing administrative changes, called for stakeholders to exercise restraint and avoid unnecessary political tensions. “The new administrative arrangement is nearing its finalisation stages and will soon receive the necessary legal endorsement.”

He emphasised the importance of collective efforts in promoting sustainable development within the FCT.  ” We urge stakeholders to shift their focus from minor issues to actively participating in broader initiatives crucial to the growth of the territory.”

Speaking on the campaign targeting the Acting Permanent Secretary of the FCTA, Mr. Samuel Attang, the Alliance highlighted Mr. Attang’s loyalty and exemplary conduct, which are considered integral to the Nigerian civil service, adding that Mr. Attang deserves the space to fulfill his responsibilities while others focus on their respective roles in ensuring the success of Abuja and Nigeria as a whole.

The Alliance called for the cessation of attacks on Mr. Attang, stressing that he has given his best efforts over the years and deserves recognition.

The group urged an end to the in-house animosity within the FCTA, as it has hindered staff growth and impeded development. They pointed out that the Acting Permanent Secretary fought for the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission for the benefit of FCT personnel, not for personal gain.

The Alliance questioned the actions of those antagonizing their own career progression in public service, which goes against the values represented by the Acting PS.

The group called for unity and cooperation among all stakeholders during this critical period. They emphasized that the journey towards a better FCT requires collaborative dedication. The Alliance reaffirmed its commitment to fostering positive developments and progress within the Federal Capital Territory.
