Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Jethro Onose, a student of the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri in Ose local government area of Ondo state.
LEADERSHIP gathered that Onose, a senior secondary school student was abducted in the early hours of yesterday alongside his father, Maliki Onose, while returning to school after the three-week holiday.
A source told LEADERSHIP that the boy and his father were in their vehicle when the incident occured.
According to the source, both the student and his father were waylaid and kidnapped along the notorious route on the Edo and Ondo Road.
The public relations officer of the police command in the state, Funmilayo Odunmlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident when contacted on phone.
Odunmlami-Omisanya said efforts were on to rescue the victims unhurt and bring the perpetrators to justice.
She said, “We are currently working with the Navy to ensure that the victims are rescued from the den of the kidnappers and the perpetrators arrested.”
