Gunmen invaded in Ketti community in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the early yesterday, kidnapping the village head of the community, Mr. Sunday Zakwoyi and a palace council member, Mr. Markus Gade, alongside another resident.

Residents said over 10 heavily armed men stormed the community at about 11:30 pm on Thursday and operated till around 12:50 am Friday, shooting sporadically.

Confirming the incident, the district head of Ketti, Mr Alex Akata, appealed to security agencies to come to their aid as they can no longer sleep.

Akata added that the abductors had about three weeks ago kidnapped some residents, including one Mr Danladi Aliu who is still in captivity.

He appealed to the present administration of President Bola Tinubu to do whatever it takes to secure the FCT, mostly the suburbs because the territory is no one safe for residents.

He lamented the lack of security manpower to tackle insecurity in the community, calling on the chairman of AMAC and FCT authority to come to their aid.

The district head said throughout the period the operation lasted, no security agency came to their rescue.
