Gunmen Kill NSCDC Personnel In Bauchi

Gunmen have killed an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Gamiji community of Burra district in Ningi local government area of Bauchi State.

LEADERSHIP learnt that the armed men who ambushed the officer also kidnapped one other person.

A resident of Gamji community said the gunmen had attacked a settlement, Rawul, where they abducted one person. He said the gunmen laid an ambush around the security post and launched an attack where the NSCDC officer was killed.

While confirming the incident, the caretaker chairman of Ningi LGA, Hon Ibrahim Zubairu Mato, said it happened last Wednesday night during which the NSCDC operative was killed in the area.

“The gunmen abducted one man, a Fulani and killed a security personnel, one, Inspector Haruna Mohammed when he went to ease himself outside the duty post and went away with his gun, a G-3 model,” he said.

The spokesperson of the state command of the NSCDC, DSC Ibrahim Abubakar Gabdo, did not respond to SMS and WhatsApp messages sent to his mobile number nor did he pick up the phone when his number was called several times at the time of filing this report.
