Hajiya Sutura, Surviving Wife Of Late President Shagari Is Dead

The death of Hajiya Sutura Shehu Shagari, the last surviving wife of the late President Shehu Shagari, has been announced.

Head of the family, Captain Muhammad Bala Shagari (rtd), in a statement announcing her demise, said, “Hajiya Sutura passed away today, at approximately 3 pm, at the age of 89 years, after a protracted illness.

“She was an embodiment of humility, grace and quiet strength, a devoted mother, grandmother and matriarch, who lived a life defined by dignity and compassion. Her death is deeply felt by the entire Shagari family, her loved ones.

“Further details and funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course,” the statement added.
