The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has extended its congratulations to Barrister Terence Vembe following his recent appointment as a member of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Arbitration Tribunal.
Vembe’s appointment, which is set to last until 2029, was officially confirmed by the IHF Council during a video conference on 2nd March 2026. The confirmation was communicated in an official letter signed by Dr. Hassan Moustafa, President of the IHF.
He will serve on the tribunal alongside esteemed members El Hanafi El Adli, Bibiana Bárbara Ferrea, and Judith Amandine A. Goude-Djessin.
Reacting to this significant development, Jibril Saidu Ojih, President of the HFN, commended Vembe on this achievement, labelling it a proud moment for both the federation and the wider Nigerian handball community.
“On behalf of the Handball Federation of Nigeria and the entire handball family in the country, I would like to warmly congratulate Barrister Terence Vembe on his well-deserved appointment to the IHF Arbitration Tribunal,” Ojih stated.

Ojih added that Vembe’s elevation reflects the increasing respect that Nigeria commands within the international handball community, emphasising the federation’s commitment to supporting individuals who elevate the nation’s profile on the global stage.
Barrister Vembe joins a distinguished group of tribunal members responsible for addressing arbitration matters within the sport, marking another significant milestone for Nigerian handball internationally.
