Hollywood couple Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors have arrived in Lagos for the 13th edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), bringing international attention to the annual celebration of African cinema.
The couple joined filmmakers, actors and other creative professionals from across the world at the festival, which celebrates African storytelling and showcases the work of filmmakers on the continent.
Their presence adds a Hollywood dimension to this year’s edition of AFRIFF, providing an opportunity for international and African creatives to connect, exchange ideas and showcase their work.
Jonathan, who spoke to the media, said he was motivated to come because the diaspora movement is shifting. He got a call from a friend saying they wanted them to come, and he and his wife are here to support the film and cinema industry and seek collaborations.
The festival continues to serve as a platform for filmmakers and industry professionals to promote African stories and build connections with the global film industry.
Good and Majors are among the international personalities attending the event as Lagos hosts the festival’s 13th edition.
There will be master classes, different sessions, and screenings at the film festival held at different centres, including the Landmark Event Centre, from November 1 to 7.
