The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has honoured 57 retirees spanning salary Grade Levels 07 to 17, recognising their invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to public service.

In a statement issued yesterday by the director, information and public relations, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Eno Olotu, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, in her keynote address, reframed retirement not as an end, but as the dawn of a new chapter.

“This is a celebration of lives dedicated to duty, sacrifice, and unwavering loyalty to the nation.  Many of our retirees began their careers as young officers and rose through the ranks, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, commitment, and selfless service,” she said.

Walson-Jack, who was represented by the permanent secretary, Common Services Office, Dr Usman Danjuma Kalba, emphasised the enduring role the retirees can play in society.

She urged them to remain engaged as mentors, consultants, and community leaders, upholding the enduring values of integrity, hard work, and patriotism.

The head of Civil Service further extended gratitude for their exceptional service and wishes for good health, peace, and fulfilment.

The director of Human Resources, Mr. Ahmed Joda, in his welcome remarks, described the ceremony as a testament to the Service’s commitment to honouring its own.

“While retirees may be out of sight, they remain valued members of our Civil Service family,” he said.
