Sequel to the devastating effect of flood The Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) has begun assessment and the process of mitigating them.

In this direction, the commission has directed the state HYPPADEC coordinators to liaise with the relevant organisations in assessing the impact of flooding in various communities for the commission to come to their aid.

The managing director HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, made this known during the official presentation of 40 motorcycles in Minna, as he lamented the effects of flood and insecurity on the communities

He lamented that a preliminary report indicated that no fewer than 83 communities were completely wiped out due to the floods, disclosing that plans are underway to ensure the implementation of resettlement centres.

Meanwhile, the commission donated 40 motorcycles to the Niger State government through its Security Trust Fund to enhance security assuring that the commission will sustain pragmatic intervention to all HYPPADEC states to ensure the security of lives and properties.
