President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his unwavering faith in his chief of staff (CoS), Femi Gbajabiamila.

The president’s endorsement of his CoS is coming on the heels of allegations of appointments’ racketeering against the former Speaker of the House of Represdentatives.

Tinubu who spoke before the commencement of the federal executive council (FEC) meeting at the presidential villa yesterday also established specific guidelines for the conduct of the meeting.

Addressing the concerns he had observed, including unauthorised access to the council chamber, President Tinubu emphasised the need to address the issues promptly.

He acknowledged that, like anyone, he could make mistakes and that when that happens, they should be acknowledged and corrected.

The president expressed his complete confidence in the integrity of his chief of staff, calling for an end to any campaign of calumny and insinuations.

He said, “First of all, let me reiterate to all of you the fact that a lot of stories are going around about what is happening. I’ve told everyone in this country that I can make mistakes; they’re bound to air them out and correct them.

“Perfection is that of God almighty. I have absolute confidence in the integrity of my Chief of Staff. All campaigns of calumny and insinuations should stop, the buck stops here.

“If I make mistakes, I’m ready to own up to it and we’re all joining hands to fight corruption and we want to enforce the law along with you”.

Meanwhile, the council gave a minute silence in honour of a former member of FEC and one-time head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Adamu Fika, who died last week at the age of 90 years.
