Speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, Basiru described the rumour as concocted stories by propaganda machinery of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State designed to cause disaffection within the fold of All Progressives Congress in Osun State.

The APC scribe said there is no iota of truth in the fabricated story adding that the Salah goodwill message of Oyetola was delivered to him not quite long also pointing to a strong associate of Omisore sitting close to him at the media pearly.

“Assuming Governor Oyetola was around yesterday, I would have been in his house to eat and our house is not far from each other in Abuja. We spoke so we don’t have any problem, if they are already afraid of our party in 2026, let them wait till expression of interest form will come out, till the nomination process will come out before you know who is contesting and who is not contesting.

“I’m the national secretary of the party, Governor Gboyega Oyetola former Governor is the Minister, we have more serious business to do than to reduce ourselves to the level of inanities”.

Basiru said he has more serious business to content with currently which include the forthcoming Ondo State gubernatorial primary of his party adding that Edo State issue has been resolved amicably.

The party scribe expressed optimism that his party will win the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo and Ondo States noted that the results of the by-election conducted across the country recently gave credence to his assertion.

“Electorally, the bye-election that we did last, go and check, our party performed more than 75 percent than any other political parties. It speaks to the serious work that my team including myself and the  NWC are doing so we don’t have time for inanities” Basiru posited.
