Ipswich Town striker Chuba Akpom has once again expressed his readiness to represent Nigeria. Born to Nigerian parents in the UK, Akpom has represented England at under-16, 17, 19, 20, and 21 levels. However, the 29-year-old has yet to break into the senior Three Lions team.

Akpom has also been overlooked by Nigeria, despite impressive performances at Middlesbrough and Ajax. Speaking with TWTD, Akpom revealed that he now possesses a Nigerian passport and that his agent is in contact with Eagles head coach Éric Chelle. “They’ve made me sort out the passport. My agent has been in touch with the manager [Éric Chelle], and they’ve always shown interest in me. If I were to be called up, it would be an honour, of course,” Akpom said.
