The International Association Of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has commiserated with the people of Namibia over the death of President Hage Geingob.

The foremost global peace advocacy group made this known in a press statement personally signed by its Director of African Affairs, Amb. John Metchie.

Amb. Metchie described the late Namibian president as a man of peace who governed the southern African country with patriotism. He also described him as a veteran of the country’s independence struggle and a pan Africanist.

Amb Metchie recalled how the late President Geingob alongside former late President Sam Nujoma led the movement against apartheid South Africa, which had effectively annexed the country, then known as South West Africa, and introduced its system of legalised racism that excluded black people from political and economic power.

The statement, while sympathising with the people of Namibia, said they should trust in God to always give them good leaders like the late Geingob.

He said that he will ensure he leads the team of Eminent Peace Ambassadors in Africa to attend the burial rites of the late Geingob whenever the country fixes his burial date.
