The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has eulogised Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shetima on his brilliant presentation during the course of the 2nd United Nations Food System Summit which took place in Ethiopia.

In a statement co-signed by the association’s African President, Amb Eugene Mahlangu, and International Spokesman, Amb Emmanuel Nkweke, the association said it was thrilled to commend Vice President Shettima’s exceptional leadership and commitment to food security and sustainable development, as showcased during his impactful presentation at the recent 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The association said His Excellency Kashim Shetima outlined three key objectives for Nigeria’s delegation, focusing on positioning Nigeria as a leader in African food systems reform, leveraging international partnerships, and advancing a private sector-led model for continental food transformation.

The statement said that based on his commitment and presentation, IAWPA has, therefore, announced Vice President Kashim Shettima as the Grand Patron of the African Food Action Club, with headquarters in South Africa.

An official presentation of his appointment will be made in Nigeria next month.

Recall that Vice President Shetima said in his presentation that the President Bola Tinubu administration was positioning Nigeria as a “leader of thought on African food systems reform.”

He also said the present administration in Nigeria wai leveraging international partnerships “aligned with domestic priorities”
As well as advancing a “private sector-led model for continental food transformation”

Shettima’s speech further noted that President Tinubu has designed a comprehensive strategy to address food security challenges, which mostly impact vulnerable citizens in conflict-affected regions.

IAWPA also said that the fact that the administration was focusing its food security initiative on youths showed that the present administration in Nigeria was visionary in its leadership plans for the country.

As part of its call for action, the statement said IAWPA was urging global leaders to follow the path laid by President Tinubu’s administration as seen in Vice President Shettima’s presentation by working towards achieving food security and sufficiency in Africa.

“By collaborating and sharing knowledge, we can build a more sustainable and food-secure future for the continent.

“The International Association of World Peace Advocates remains dedicated to promoting peace, sustainable development, and human well-being in Africa. We look forward to working with Vice President Shettima and other global leaders to achieve our goals,” the statement concluded.
